About us

Who we are

Abide New Jersey is a young adult prayer movement, mostly ages 18 to 35, dwelling with God and serving people across New Jersey.

How we started

Eddie Cuba, founder of Abide, speaking at a prayer room
Eddie CubaFounder & Executive Director
We dedicate ourselves to creating spaces for encounters with the Almighty God, Jesus Christ, and to carrying that presence and faith into the world: loving our neighbors, being the hands and feet of Jesus, and making disciples.

In November 2025, the Lord placed a vision on the heart of our founder, Eddie Cuba: a space where young adults could come to pray, read their Bibles and worship together as an extension of their secret place.

The first prayer room was held on a Sunday night, on purpose. Many young adults spend their Sundays serving in their local churches, and Eddie wanted them to be able to keep serving at home, then come and be filled again, so they could keep pouring out without burning out.

In February 2026, Eddie opened a second prayer room. That night the Holy Spirit moved in a beautiful and powerful way. Since then, following the Spirit's lead, Eddie has kept opening the doors for gatherings throughout the year.

Along the way, the Lord brought back to his memory a word about community ministry that He had spoken in 2023: to prepare young people to serve within their church and out in their community. From there came the name Abide, drawn from Jesus' words in John 15, “Abide in me, and I in you.”

Integrity statement

Our commitment

Abide Ministries commits to doing the work of the ministry in a way that is honest, transparent, and worthy of the trust placed in us by God, our partner churches, our donors, and the young people we serve.

Jesus said, “Abide in me, and I in you”John 15:4

We believe the fruit of our ministry depends on that same faithfulness in private and in public. Prayer, worship, and community lose their witness if the way we handle money, people, and words does not match what we preach.

What we believe

Our integrity begins with what we believe, and everything Abide does rests on these truths.

One God in three persons.

We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14

The true Gospel.

We believe the true Gospel: that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, and that salvation is by grace through faith in Him.

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 · Ephesians 2:8–9

The return of Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is coming back for His Church, His bride.

John 14:3 · Revelation 19:7

Host a prayer room

Prayer rooms move from church to church, so young adults meet congregations they might never have walked into. If your church would open its doors for one night, we'd love to talk.
